Headquartered in San Diego, California with a dedicated proto/NPI business unit and a full production facility, SMS specializes in complex projects in low-to-medium volumes, and has the ability to address higher volume and/or offshore production requirements through our sister company, Total Electronics with facilities in Indiana and Mexico. Some important dates from our long history:

2004 - Spectragraphics acquired Total Electronics, adding facilities in Indiana and Mexico.

1996 - SMS Technologies, Inc. became a subsidiary of Spectragraphics Corp.

1992 - Electronics contract manufacturing operation began within Spectragraphics Corp.

1981 - Spectragraphics Corp. started operations as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of high-end graphics terminals servicing the IBM mainframe market.
